New Digital Drainage System

Using less than a half a kilowatt of energy, a dedicated mini vacuum pump is precisely regulated to deliver the exact level of vacuum needed in each lo-vac unit on the fourdrinier table. There are no control valves at all in the Hogenkamp system. No big inefficient centrifugal blower. No crude pneumatic controls. The operator has merely to punch in the desired vacuum level on the convenient touch-screen display. A ceramic level sensor provides constant feedback to the PLC which adjusts the mini vacuum pump speed to create the optimum suction on every drainage element. Absolute precision with no wasted energy.

Lo-vacs operate under 4-12"WC (10-30cm) and remove large quantities of water. A sightglass allows for easy operator control and convenient calibration of the vacuum transmitter when needed.
A touchscreen displays vacuum levels and vacuum pump speeds for every drainage element.
 

 
A dual wet-vac under 20-40" WC (50-100cm)
creates a dryline. Glass windows show the reduction in water removal from zone 1 to zone 2. The ceramic vacuum sensor can be seen mounted at the top right of the box.
Tsunami headbox and MiniTower radial header provide a uniform stock jet to the fourdrinier table. A special formation shower imparts turbulent shear to the fibers after the forming board for enhanced formation.
